WILD ONES PROGRAMS: Wild Ones is a group of folks who enjoy natural areas and native plant gardens. We meet once per month to attend a lecture or tour a natural area or garden. Join us anytime. Call Bob for more information at (312) 744-5472. Join us as we tour Cowles Bog in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore. Cowles Bog is an 8,000 year old fen. It is named for the pioneering Ecologist, Dr. Henry Chandler Cowles. This rich wetland complex contains Paper birch, Tamarack and White Pine trees as well as Columbine, meadow rue, cotton grass, cranberries, and a variety of ferns and sedges in the ground layer. We’ll meet at the Cowles Bog parking area. Chicago carpoolers meet at the North Park Village Nature Center at 8:00 am sharp.
