  • Over the course of this year, volunteers from Chicago's East side have been replacing an invasive species with an assortment of special native wetland plants at Eggers Grove Forest Preserve. The goal of the planting is to get 10,000 plants in the soil before the end of the year, and we have about 2,000 left to go!

After an exciting meeting of local community members, the final planting will happen on Saturday September 19th at 11AM. Please dress for muddy conditions - if you have rubber or waterproof boots you should wear them. Some boots of various sizes, bug spray and sunscreen as well as some water and snacks will be supplied, but feel free to bring some food to share with the group.

Meet at the very end of the parking lot by the entrance to the trail. To RSVP or if you have any questions, please contact Robb Telfer at 708.334.8831. Click here for more information.
