The Wetlands Initiative is hosting its first-ever BioBlitz over June 13-14 at the Dixon Waterfowl Refuge at Hennepin & Hopper Lakes in north-central Illinois. A BioBlitz is a 24-hour event during which as many different species as possible are identified and recorded in an area. Teams will be led by expert scientists throughout the Refuge to survey the site in order to document its biodiversity.
Complete this survey to sign up for different group activities that will run during the BioBlitz. Each activity lists the maximum number of participants, the activity level, and special equipment that the activity requires. The BioBlitz is appropriate for people in high school and older; high school-age participants must be accompanied by a parent.
