The Forest Preserve District of Kane County teams up with the St. Charles Park District, and the Geneva Park District to offer a series of classes for ages 16 and above, focusing on a variety of topics in local ecology. The following classes offer in-depth information and learning opportunities. 

– Oak woodlands are disappearing throughout the Midwest. The reasons for the decline are many, and the challenges in restoration are great. Ben Haberthur, Restoration Ecologist with the FPDKC, will provide an overview of the ecology of oak woodlands and describe the management projects underway in the effort to restore these important plant communities.
