Continue the tradition of citizen science at Indiana Dunes by participating in the second ever National Park Service BioBlitz. While the big event will be held May 20-21, 2016, educators are invited to learn monitoring techniques and research methods in this preparatory workshop in January. Join other educators and get involved in planning and developing BioBlitz activities for your students.

The workshop begins at 9 a.m. and runs til 4 p.m. It will be held at the Paul H. Douglas Center for Environmental Education in the west end of the national lakeshore. Other non-formal educators are welcome to join in the hands-on experience.

Participants will learn from other teachers who have incorporated BioBlitz programs into their study units and connect with a local scientist to practice hands-on monitoring methods.

Register on the Dunes Learning Center website at . You can call at 219-395-9555 for more information. Cost of the workshop is $35 and includes lunch and lots of materials!
